Easter Sunday-The Family Gathering

We had a great day on Easter. We all gathered to go to church and were blessed to see our oldest

 grandchild, Pellie, get baptized. It was a blessing to us all. We praise God for the salvation of our

 children and now our grandchildren. Her dad, Josh, sang a special song that was beautiful. He sang

 "Man of Sorrows." God has blessed us!! 

After church we had a delicious meal. The kids were ready for the annual Easter egg hunt. 

Rachel was the easter bunny this year. She hid the eggs.

The Family Tree

The Family Tree

Where did you come from? That's a question that everyone ask. I have been delving into our family tree
and 

have found some very interesting stuff about the family. I will be sharing some of these in this blog and 

future blogs. That is my maiden name, Dunshie. This is in a cemetery in Beaumont, Texas. This

where several of my relatives are buried. I went on a trip not to long ago and did some cemetery visits

and took pictures.

Some people may think this is uninteresting and a waste of time. I really enjoy finding and reading 

stories of my past relatives. I will include some stories next week about some who traveled from

 the Nederlands. Come back and visit next Thursday.

Valentine Breakfast

Every year since 2001 my husband has taken all the girls in the family for a Valentine Breakfast.

He always find a new place to visit for our special time together. This year we went to "5 & Diner"

 in Tulsa.  We always have a lot of fun. He gave all of us a box of candy and a red rose. He also gave

the little ones heart shaped ballons. The breakfast was outstanding.

Rachel and Jason Engagement

Wedding of Jason and Rachel coming soon. They will be married Sat., Nov. 3rd. We are so excited about our new daughter-in-law. She is a very sweet girl. Keep them in your prayers.

Vacation

We are having a much needed time away to relax and refresh ourselves. It's been a good time for us. I hope everyone back home have been doing ok. It's hard to be away and know that life goes on without you. Really kinda strange feeling. God has been good to us and I try very hard to count our blessings.

Family Time

Having a great time visiting with the family from Florida. All of us are getting henna tattoos by Sarah Ascol. Fun. Getting ready for vacation starting on Monday. We are excited.

New Grandbaby

I was there during the delivery of my sixth grandchild. What a wonder! It was something that I had not thought to much about, but it was one of the most wonderful experiences I have ever had. Joanna did a great job even though she was in a great deal of pain even with the epidural. Little baby Davis Lee was born Feb. 16th at 2:23pm weighing in at 8.1. He is beautiful and very even tempered like his mom. I get to enjoy him living with us for a while until they move to Texas. I will enjoy as much of them as I can until that happens. We praise God for his health and Joanna's recovery and her health.

Book Study-"New Eve"

We are having a wonderful time studying the book "New Eve". Mary Ascol, Joanna Scroggins, Joy Ascol Ward, Jennifer Ascol and myself. Every Monday at 4:00pm. I believe it is a study that all women should study. It's instructive for every age.

Family Christmas

Christmas happened this past Tuesday for our family. We had a great time opening gifts and just visiting with one another. I got the bowls I wanted from Jason. He had my name. The funny gift was from the stockings again. I don't think I need to go into detail, but Joy knows what it was. We will go to church on Christmas day and then just relax in the afternoon.
